'I studied graphic design and communication at Camberwell College of Art back in the mid 90′s and now carve out a living as the Creative Director of a strategic design and marketing agency.

My art has always sat in the background but over the last few years I have seen growing interest in my work. I’ve been fortunate enough to sell some pieces as well as having been commissioned to produce a number of paintings and portraits.

Most of my work is created in gouache; I love its strength of colour and matt opacity. However, as I start to create bigger pieces, I am increasingly working on canvas and using household gloss paint. This achieves the same colour intensity as gouache but offers more flexibility on larger format pieces.

I also produce work digitally. The way I work in all mediums is similar. I look to deconstruct the subject into a set of shapes, leaving enough information for it to be clearly recognisable but removing what I see to be superfluous.

I am influenced by the travel and transport posters of the first half of the twentieth century and count the likes of Tom Purvis and Frank Newbould among my art heroes. Their ability to turn functional communications into works of art and the level of craftsmanship in their work is a real inspiration.'
