Historical Cornwall - Morrab Gardens, Penzance 1922 Single Card
MORRAB GARDENS, PENZANCE, ABOUT 1922
Alfred Robert Quinton (1853-1934)
Morrab Gardens is one of Penzance's principle attractions. It was landscaped in the Victorian era and opened to the public in 1889. The sub-tropical trees and plants, which florish in the mild climate and for which the garden is famous, were supplied by the local landowners. Quinton's picture shows the gardens as they were almost a century ago. In the background is the Victorian bandstand and the Morrab Library.
Immediately to the north is Penlee Park and Penlee House, now the Penlee Museum and Art Gallery.
