Thanks to Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, Steiff have always felt a close connection with USA. In 1913, on the occasion of the presidential election in the USA, Richard Steiff designed “Dolly”, a Teddy bear in the national colours. Until 1918, there were four colour variations with the head always remaining white. In 2021, Dolly bear replica 1913 appears, 32 cm tall, in green, coral red ruff and white head – a rare and therefore very sought-after version at the time. Dolly bear replica 1913 is fully jointed, made of the finest mohair and stuffed with wood-shavings. She has glass eyes and a squeaker voice, her coral red ruff made of wool is handmade. The patinated “Underscore” button and the white replica ear tag are period correct.
