Moorcroft - Sea Bears Vase 576/9 (LE30)

Although noted as the planet’s largest land-based carnivores, polar bears spend most of their lives around water and ice, with their Latin name (Ursus maritimus) meaning ‘sea bear.’ Moorcroft Pottery designer Kerry Goodwin choreographs these usually solitary animals as they prowl in their slow but powerful gait, keeping a watchful eye over their young cubs, while others haul their colossal shaggy bodies out of the icy depths in this scene of Arctic ice and water.
